Contest to Design Logo of ASEAN's 40th Anniversary

The Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) will celebrate its 40th anniversary on 8 August 2007 . For this occasion, all Filipinos are invited to participate in the ASEAN40 logo design contest. The theme “One ASEAN at the Heart of Dynamic Asia” has been selected to mark the occasion.

The ASEAN40 logo design shall incorporate the theme of its anniversary and carry an explanation on the significance of the logo.Each submission shall comprise two versions of the logo :

The full colour version
The black and white version

If the ASEAN emblem is incorporated in the ASEAN40 logo, it should not be distorted in terms of proportion or colour. There are four colours to the ASEAN emblem – red, blue, white and yellow – and the Pantone Colours of the emblem are available at : http://www.aseansec.org/7095.htm

All winning logos from ASEAN Member Countries will be submitted to the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta for a final selection by a Judging Panel. The winning logo will be designated as the official logo of ASEAN’s 40th Anniversary.

All rights to the winning logo designs entered in the contest will belong to the Secretary- General of ASEAN.

All entries must be submitted with the official contest form available at the ASEAN Affairs Office, Department of Foreign Affairs, 2330 Roxas Blvd. , Pasay City sent in sealed envelope marked with “ASEAN40 Logo Contest”.

RULES

Organiser
The ASEAN40logo contest at the national level is organized by the ASEAN Affairs Office of the Department of Foreign Affairs (Philippines).

Participation
The contest is open to all Filipinos above 18 years old. Students of art, graphic design, communication design, media design or related discipline are encouraged to participate.

The logo design must be original and individual work. No team proposals are accepted.

Submission of Logo
The logo should incorporate the theme of ASEAN's 40th Anniversary: One ASEAN at the Heart of the DYnamic Asia.

Each entry should carry an explanation of the significance of the logo.

Copyrights of Logo
The winning logo will be used by the ASEAN Secretariat in activities related to the 40th anniversary. The logo will be used in publications, videos, advertisements, posters and other promotional material including on the internet.

The ASEAN Secretariat is therefore entitled to use, reproduce, adapt, publish and distribute the work freely.

The logo entry will not be returned to the designer.

All rights to the winning logo designs entered in the contest will belong to the Secretary General of ASEAN.
