it or tear it apart? "Cuida" is about three friends
who have known each other since childhood: Ryan, the
perfect boy next door; Bubot, the girl to die for; and
Henry, the third leg that completes a complicated love
triangle. One would give everything, the other is
everything, and the last one has to choose between the
two. Who will stay, who should go?

3) Janina Myka S. Mercado: PISO NI GIDO
(UST/Narrative/ Digital/16 mins)

SYNOPSIS: “Piso ni Gido” is a funny short feature that
depicts a very simple yet a very likely story of
everyone in us. Reflections of every childhood
memories and experiences which doesn’t fail to show a
moral lesson that we have learned from those moments.
“Piso ni Gido” delves into the choices a young boy
makes with the help of his precious one peso coin.

She is expected to graduate on March 2007. She
explores herself thru art direction, digital art,
painting, and creative designing. Janina is being
known as a very jolly yet deep thinking person. She
makes simple things complicated yet perfect. Once
assigned for a project, she tends to fall into deep
thinking, and rounds up to a colorful idea and unique
concept. When dealing with a problem, she does things
the scientific way . . . she gathers information,
formulates the problem and goes on with her project
smoothly and interestingly ends up with a whopping and
unexpected achievement. A sample of this is her first
ever self-directed short-film (with the help of her
best and hardworking groupmates) "Piso ni Gido". The
film won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay,
and Best Musical Scoring in 2005 Moving Concept; Best
Picture, Best Production Design, Best Screenplay, Best
Actor, Best Original Score and Best Director in 2005

4) Monica Lea Timbas: CHICKS NI GOD
(UST/Narrative/ Digital/10 mins)

SYNOPSIS: The film is a metaphorical depiction of
man’s relationship with God. Here we compared man to
wind- up toys. Toys are different from one another.
They have their character and attitude. The dirty
chicks symbolized men as sinners. Like men, they have
their free will. So, they took the roads that led them
towards their own downfall. We sometimes tend to be
like these wind-up toys. As soon as we get our freedom
we forget to look back to the One who has winded our
keys and gave us life. With such kind of attitude, it
would be hard for us to succeed. Despite all our wrong
doings and wrong decisions, God is still very much
willing to accept us just like what happened in the
latter part. The man, in the end, gathered all the
chicks fixed them and gave them new life.

Monica Lea Timbas is a graduate of Fine Arts and
Design major in Advertising Arts from the University
of Santo Tomas. She is currently working as a creative
designer in FinePoint Design, a design agency located
at Greenhills, San Juan. She enjoys watching movies
and is fascinated by how everything works behind the
camera. Someday, she dreams of making an art that will
inspire people. ;)

in flash photography.
