Information:Tupada is an artist-organized international performance art event in the Philippines, which provides emerging artists a venue to engage ideas and art practice about new media; particularly human body, sound and site specific.
Tupada Action & Media Arts 2007 participants:France-Bruno Mercet, Germany-Dirk Fleischmann, Indonesia-Ronald Apiran, Japan-Seiji Shimoda, Fukushima Kana, Makoto Maruyama, Shohei Nomoto Ami Yamasaku, Myanmar-Htien Lin, Singapore-Lynn Lu and Philippines-Maki Calilung, Jef Carnay, Buddy Ching, Thom Daquioag, Boyet de Mesa, Mitch Garcia, Baguio Artist Guild, Ian Madrigal, Marlon Magbanua, Kaye O’Yek, Sam Penaso, Arnel Ramiscal, Ronaldo Ruiz, Jose Tence Ruiz, Cesare Syjuco, Jean Marie Syjuco, Maxine Syjuco, Angelo Suarez, Tengal, Mannet Villariba, Jevijoe Vitug, Costantino Zicarelli.
TAMA ’07 – Tupada Action and Media Art 4th International Action
Date: April 19-23, 2007
Venue: Cultural Center of the Philippines; Kanlungan ng Sining (Artists’ Haven), Rizal Park, Manila, and the Tam’awan Artists Village and Botanical Garden, Baguio City
A three-day art event composed of art forums, action art performances, sharing and interaction of artists from different nations. One of the special guests is Mr. Seiji Shimoda, organizer of the Nippon International Performance Art Festival (NIPAF). Four other Japanese performance artists, Fukushima Kana, Makoto Maruyama, Shohei Nomoto, and Ami Yamasaku, join the new media-based performance art festival.
