Free to be Filipino at F*ART

Free to be Filipino at F*ART

Filipinos united for empowerment all in the name of Fashion and Art
at F*ART on June 9, 2007. The event dubbed as "Free to be
Filipino", was a pre-celebration of the Philippine Independence,
which unleashed astonishing Filipino talent in fashion, art, music,
poetry, spoken word, photography, and digital film. It was a night
that gave tribute to Filipino talent.

Fashion designers (Happy Andrada, Christy Monastrial, Dimple Lim,
Isa Alvarez, Jerome Lorico, Regine Dulay, Tracy De Guzman, Veejay
Floresca, Ziggy Savella, and Dennis Celestial) exhibited their
Filipino themed creations.

Artists of WeWillDoodle (Nelz Yumul, AJ Obra, Ramil Escarda, Mark
Ganzon, Joan Medrano, Meneer Marcelo, Paolo Ferrer, Brendan Goco,
and Kyx)and Urban Kaleidoscope (Lesley Lim, Gissele Bautista, Derek
Tumala, Julius Sebastian) doodled freely on the walls.

Musicians (Myke Madriaga of Evo Evolver, Simon of Greatest Forces,
Tina Roxas and Kurlie of Flavours and Caffeine, Happy Andrada)
played Filipino Electronica Music.

Poetry and Spoken Word performers (Viva Andrada, Danny Sillada, Mat
Rabena and friends, Vanni Liwanag, Reynaldo "Palito" Hipolito)
shared their verses from the heart.

Photographers (Jeff Peteza, Miguel Sarthou, Mitch Mauricio, Nina
Sandejas, Pranz Billones, Shaira Luna, and Viva Andrada) presented
pictures they snapped around the Philippines.

Digital Filmmakers (Khavn of Filmless Films and HF Yambao) showcased
their indie movies.

F*ART believes in what Filipinos can do. It is a place where
Filipino talent can bloom and grow. F*ART gathers world-class
Filipino talent under one roof. F*ART is located at 24 K-D cor. K-
1st, Kamuning, Quezon City.

"Free to be Filipino" was sponsored by Wilcon Builders, Shobe
Hardware, Marikina Asia Lumber with media partners: MOD magazine
Passion for Perfection, Chalk magazine, NU 107 Home of NU Rock,
Breakfast Studio 23, RPN-9 I-Watch News Weeknights 10:00-10:30 pm,
Philippine Daily Inquirer. Event Partners: Wee Will Doodle and
Hands On Manila. The event was hosted by Francis "Kiko" Reyes of
the OPM band "The Dawn".
