Free Admission Performance of La Casa de Bernarda Alba @ Instituto Cervantes

FREE ADMISSION SPECIAL PERFORMANCE!!!

INSTITUTO CERVANTES AND THE SPANISH PROGRAM FOR CULTURAL COOPERATION PRESENT DRAMATIS PERSONAE AND LA CONSOLACION COLLEGE MANILA SCHOOL OF PERFORMING ARTS’ PRODUCTION OF LA CASA DE BERNARDA ALBA

Poet-playwright Federico Garcia Lorca’s well-known classic on matriarchal domination and sexual repression, LA CASA DE BERNARDA ALBA will have a special performance on Friday, 28 November, at 8pm at the Instituto Cervantes Open-Air Theatre along T M Kalaw Street, Manila.

Written in 1936 and set in a remotely arid village in Spain, La Casa de Bernarda Alba is a riveting domestic tragedy that explores the conflict between the struggle for honor and dignity, albeit in a twisted way, versus the pursuit for one’s passion and freedom to love and be loved.

The play features DP seasoned stalwart Ms. Linda Lupton as Bernarda, and is ably supported by the LCCM School of Performing Arts and Arte.Comm ensemble, namely Sam Lanuza, K-cee Binarao, Channa de Guzman, Jinky Espiritu, Cristina Lupton, Wilklean Regalado, Joana Dizon, Dennie Dema-ala, Pam Tubana, and Ms. Yolanda Pino as Maria Josefa.

With arts grants by Barcelo Café and Camp Suki, La Casa de Bernarda Alba is stage managed by Diah Mae Abida, production designed by Lito Casaje, Jinky Espiritu and Lito Perez, directed by Lito Casaje.

Admission is free on a first-come-first served basis. For inquiries and reservations, please call/text/email 5261482 TO 85 local 110/09064974025 / 09282070827 / cultmni@cervantes.es / carlitocasaje@yahoo.com.
