June 15, 17, 19, 22 and 24 (6 p.m.–9 p.m.)

This workshop is designed for digital camera users who want to learn the basics of photography. It discusses the factors affecting photographic output, basic understanding of light, the digital camera and its functions, and exposure setting. The workshop also teaches participants how to see and take better pictures, and manipulate images and output.

To further enhance the participants’ knowledge, the workshop will entail shooting assignments, critiquing, and working in a digital darkroom and a photo clinic

Joining fee, discount, and freebies
A workshop fee of P4,000 includes handouts, lunch, transportation, computer use, and certificate. Cash or check payment can be made at the library or through bank deposit.

Due to the limited number of slots, interested participants are requested to register on or before June 8 by paying at least P1,000 (non-refundable, full payment is due on the first day of class). A 5 percent discount will be given to those who pay in full on or before the deadline.

FUN SHOOT SERIES | Photographing Food in Tagaytay
June 20, 2009 (8 a.m. –5 p.m.)

Would you like to improve your photography skills outside the confines of a classroom? Come join us on a photo trip out of town!

The Fun Shoot Series integrates a brief lecture and on-the-spot photo critiques. After the trip, the best photographs will be highlighted in a group exhibit, to be held at FHL’s The Alcove photo gallery.

The first leg of the series is a photo trip to picturesque Tagaytay. The city, which overlooks the breathtaking Taal Lake and Taal Volcano, has become a major food haunt. Have a taste of Tagaytay’s famed bulalo and other culinary delights—and take beautiful photos of them as well.

Photographing Food in Tagaytay is scheduled on June 20, 2009. A short lecture will be held at the Filipinas Heritage Library before going to Tagaytay. Round trip transfer and food to photograph and enjoy afterwards will be provided.

Joining fee
The workshop fee is P3,000, but due to the limited number of slots, interested participants are requested to preregister by paying at least P1,500 (nonrefundable) on or before June 6.

Previous and currently enrolled workshop participants of The Alcove shall receive a P500 rebate if full/discounted amount is paid on or before the deadline.

For more details, please call 892-1801, send an SMS to 0917-5594417, e-mail, or visit
