Comics Creation & Caricature Contests Now Accepting Entries

The First Philippine Cartoons,Comics and Animation Festival or PICCA Fest, to be held on October 15 to17,2009, is now accepting entries to the Larry Alcala Comics Creation and Hugo Yonzon Jr. Caricature contest open to all Filipino high school and college student . Winners will win cash prizes,trophies, and PICCA Fest souvenir items.

Deadline for submission is on September 30,2009 and finalist's works shall be exhibited at the SM Megamall Bridgeway during the festival. Awarding of winners shall be on October 18, 2009 at the Komikon in SM Megatrade Hall.

An initative by Samahang Kartunista ng Pilipinas or SKPand Creative Media Professionals Guild of Asia and the Pacific or CMPGAP,the PICCA Fest will feature exhibitions, film showings,workshops, symposia, competitions, awardings and book launches that will be held in various venues in the Ortigas area,specifically at the SM Megamall, Podium,Poveda and Developement Academy of the Philippines.
