Cloud Watchers : Understanding Neorealism In A Sequence Shot

One of the technical parameters of Neorealism is the concept of ' the
sequence shot". I am reminded by I discussion I had with UP Baguio
Fine Arts friend regarding the " Cloud Watchers".I was a bit shaky in
trying to determine how the whole exercise work. I never did
understood the dialectics of creative form as the primary intention
behind the physics of cloud movements. I neglected the process as the
form evolves into a clear function.

Explaining the geometry of cloud formations may hurt one's cognitive
functions but the underlying meaning in the emotional narrative flow
is realized when you take that initial step of suspending one's
disbelief. I feel, at that point, one is able to discern the function
behind the form .

It is then a matter of creative observation in determining the
function of any cloud formation. And as the clouds move, the
framework of sequence shot reveals itself. It is truly a "a-ha"
moment for me. Discovering the physical and emotional narrative lines
of a white, fluffy and smooth entity... clouds.

Neorealism, through sequence shot, I feel, is an exercise of the
heart, mind and soul. As we look at different lives as diverse cloud
formations, we let the forms evolve to their well defined functions.
Sticking with a non-interventionist approach to life as viewed and
felt will make the whole piece an experience worth remembering.
