Yes, it’s that time of the year, we already feel it, and the heat is on! Yes, summer is here! This is the time for annual Santacruzans and fiestas, the season when pubescent young men experience their first manly rites of passage - circumcision, the occasion to visit beaches and don the bikinis and board shorts, the period to attend workshops with the hope to unleash the inner artist, build esteem and confidence and gain new friends.
Gantimpala Theater, one of Manila’s leading dramatic arts companies, continue its summer tradition of rearing the young and the thespians in the field of theater as it opens its doors with three workshops.
Headed by Artistic Director Joel Lamagan and Chairman and President Jun F. Flavier Pablo, Gantimpala Theater offers CHILDREN’S MUSICAL THEATER (kids ages 5 to 12 years old), TEENS AND ADULTS MUSICAL THEATER (from 13 years old and up) and ADVANCE MUSICAL THEATER (open to those who already attended a musical theater workshop).
Classes are every Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 9am to 12nn (Childrens), 1pm to 5pm (Teens and Adults) and 6pm to 9pm (Advanced) starting April 21 to May 24, 2014.
Facilitators are theater actress Lodie Atis for Children’s Musical Theater, director, playwright and librettist Jose Jeffrey Camanag for Teens and Adults Musical Theater, actor, singer, director, ALIW Awardee and URIAN nominee Roeder Camanag for Advance Musical Theater.
