On its 39th theater season, the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) in association with the Spanish Program for Cultural Cooperation proudly presents "Don_Q."
Don_Q is the story of Donatello, a fifteen year-old, who fancies himself as a virtual knight out to change the world through a computer-based role-playing game.
Left to his own devises by parents who have gone to work abroad, Donatello reincarnates as an avatar with the user name Don_Q. Together with his Yaya Sunshine, they connive, duel, zap and align with other creatures of cyberspace in worlds inspired by Miguel de Cervantes' Don Quixote dela Mancha. Completely improvised by the young actors of PETA's Metropolitan Teen Theater League and driven by audience suggestion, the performance unfolds like an online computer game.
Don_Q is directed by Chris Millado, with dramaturgy by Jovy Miroy, soundscape by Jethro Joaquin, set by Don Salubayba, costume by Santi Obcena and lights design by Ian Torqueza
The theater production will be staged at the PETA-Phinma Theater, PETA Theater Center on Sept. 29, 30, Oct. 1, 6-8, 13 to 15, 20 to 22, with performances at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
