Wi_fi Body Festival at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP)

Wi_fi Body Festival 2 opens at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) on July 12 and occurs till July 15, 2007.

There are twenty-four events scheduled to showcase independent contemporary dance in the Philippines.

The Choreographers¢ Platform on July 12, 8pm at the CCP Little Theatre features Myra Beltran¢s choreography in Nostalgia : le grand tango, in an entire program of Astor Piazzolla music played by Alfonso Bolipata on violin, in a quintet of piano, clarinet, bass and harmonium.

July 13, 8pm features Jose Jay Cruz¢s Transitopia with Dancing Wounded Contemporary Dance Commune, featuring artists from different fields converging in the interest of contemporary dance. Guest artist from Taipei, I-fen Tung of 8213 Taipei also premieres Self-surrounding 2067.

July 14, 8pm features Paul Morales¢s Love Potion No. 9 with Airdance, in an exploration on the idea of romance in Philippine movies.

The Wi_fi Body Festival at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) also features for the first time a choreography competition for the solo-duet form, the New Choreographers Competition.

Other components are Dance-on-site, Uncensored Bodies (dance on screen), Asian Contemporary Dance perspective (a forum), Book Launch of book on Francisca Reyes Aquino, first national Artist of Dance and master classes.
