PUNLA: An Art Exhibit For a Vision
Punla Exhibit Opening
on July 19 at the Center for Arts Timog
Center for Arts Foundation Inc. proudly presents an art exhibit
entitled "Punla," a Tagalog word which means "to plant," "to sow,"
or "to invest." And it is in this spirit that forty contemporary
visual artists have collaborated by donating their artwork for the
benefit of the Olang Center For Arts in Siquijor Island .
Olang Center For Arts is envisioned to be a haven for visual and
performing artists in the heart of Visayas and Mindanao.
Artists Salvador Alonday, Maysa Arabit, Jojo Ballo, Anna Cabardo-
Lozano, Glenn Cagandahan, Pablo Capati, Crisanto, Marina Cruz, Rene
Cuvos, Joey de Castro, Vincent de Pio, Marlon Despues, Fernan
Escora, Bunch Garcia, Carlo Gernale, Sandra Fabie-Gfeller, Abigail
Jao, Arvin Javier, Maya Ladyong, Aileen Lanuza, Cathy Lasam, Mervin
Malonzo, Monette Narciso, Von Ng, Jim Orencio, Jay Pacena, Jaco
Payawal, Vincent Padilla, Sam Penaso, Jill Arwen Posadas, Tatong
Recheta-Torres, Carlo Saavedra, Cocoy Santos, Rodel Tapaya, Jing Uy,
Anna Varona and Costantino Zicarelli will present drawings,
paintings, sculpture and pottery and made available at artist's
price on opening night only. "Punla" opens at 6pm on Thursday, July
19 2007, at Center for Arts, 100 Timog Avenue, QC (near GMA7, in
front of Caltex.)
