Winners of Websining 2007

The Committee on Visual Arts of the NCCA and the Websining 2007 Project Team formally announces the winners of the Websining 2007: Contesting Traditions digital art competition.

DIGITAL STILL IMAGES CATEGORY

1st Place
"In Purity" by Emmanuel ‘Mannet’ L. Villariba (Meycauayan, Bulacan)

2nd Place
"Celebrate Life" by Philip Luana by Philip Anthony Muana (Lapu Lapu City, Cebu)

3rd Place
"Against the Flow" by Luis Emmanuel R. De Vera (Malabon City)

DIGITAL ANIMATION CATEGORY

1st Place
"Celebrate Life" by Philip Anthony Muana (Lapu Lapu City, Cebu)

2nd Place
"Three Stars and a Sun" by Mark Aquino (Makati City)

3rd Place
"Desecrated Institutions" by Hendrick Gando David (Quezon City)

Special Jury Award
"Doc" by Ramon del Prado (Dumaguete City. For meritorious achievement in the craft of animation and narrative. "A story well-animated and well-told."

The committee and the project team decided a no-contest rule for the SOFTWARE ART CATEGORY because there is only a single entrant.

Judges for this year's Websining include: Henry Lopez and AJ Siytanco for the Digital Animation Category, Eileen Legaspi-Ramirez and Geejay Arriola for the Digital Still Image Category, and Neal Robles and Tilman Baumgartel for the Software Art Category. However, we sincerely congratulate Aileen Familara of Quezon City for her effort in producing a truly competitive entry.

We thank everyone for having participated in the online voting and in the forum discussions and we look forward to your continued participation in next year's Websining!
