December 2, 2006 to December 16, 2006
For artist Beth Parrocha-Doctolero, work is play and play is work. Two decades have gone by and her love for illustrating and designing children's books never goes dry, like a beautiful watercolor work mesmerizing the eyes and soothing the soul. As a kid she has played with watercolor. Now Beth Parrocha-Doctolero still does – in the form of art.
Beth Parrocha-Doctolero's caliber as a premier children's illustrator will be showcased in truly magnificent display as her first solo exhibit entitled "Alphabet Journal" opens at OWG in Makati. As medium she made use of watercolor which she has grown to love like a child to a favorite toy. Her paintings vividly display the colors of her emotion emphasized through happy tones and playful details.
A Fine Arts graduate from the University of the Philippines (UP), Diliman, Beth Parrocha-Doctolero has proven her worth in the playground of book illustration. Among her remarkable works include the best-selling "Ang Pambihirang Buhok Ni Raquel" and "Papel De Liha" from Adarna House Publishing. Beth Parrocha-Doctolero is the founding member of the Illustrador ng Kabataan whose works are featured often on literary and children's books. For the record she had already won a Manila Critics Circle Award for art and design.
Beth Parrocha-Doctolero's first solo watercolor painting exhibition at the One Workshop Gallery (OWG) runs from December 2 to 16, with cocktails on the opening night at 630pm.

One Workshop Gallery
In the heart of One Workshop Studios lies the OWG or One Workshop Gallery. OWG was formally launched just last January 26 and is one of the newest commercial art galleries to open in Makati. Situated a stone’s throw away from both residential (San Lorenzo Village and Ecology Village) and commercial (Makati Business District) areas, the gallery allows for easy access to visitors from all walks of life.
A regular day at OWG will feature a unique mix of artists, collectors, photographers, models, workshop participants and clients from the
in-house coffee shop. OWG boasts of three high-ceiling studio areas and an amusing bathroom (art comfort room).
Studio 1 acts solely as exhibition space while Studio 2 is where the daily art workshops are held. These two spaces accommodate new exhibitions
every 15 days. Studio 3 is made up of the coffee shop called Kunst Kaffee and the inner gallery within the offices. OWG’s own collection of various works on consignment are constantly exhibited on rotation here.
The gallery collection and exhibitions caters to all forms of media. Working hand in hand with One Workshop’s photography studio and EPSON Digital Print ProLab center, OWG has a special focus on celebrating digital art and photography. The gallery collection consists of works ranging from those made by emerging artists
to pieces by well-known and established names.
