"Timeless Filipino"
The Peninsula Manila,
Makati City
December 12, 2006 to December 15, 2006
Last March, the Peninsula Manila held their first ever Digital Photography Competition.
The competition required the participants (both amateur and professional photographers) to produce a substantial picture story that will express visually The Peninsula Manila's vision of Timeless Filipino. Only one winner was chosen - the team of photographer/graphic designers Jorem Catilo and Sheila Juan.
Part of the award was to be commissioned by the hotel to create a body of work that will be used as artworks in the newly-renovated rooms of The Peninsula for the next 7-8 years. So this year, the photographers went around the country to shoot photos of landscapes, seascapes, and all types of objects that are Filipino.
The artworks were done in digital black and white photographs with splashes of color. The exhibit, "Timeless Filipino," features splices of the pieces that currently hang in the new guestrooms of the Makati Tower.

The Peninsula Manila is located at the corner of Ayala and Makati Avenues, 1226 Makati City, Philippines.
