the yahoo group Baguio City Artists, the Moderator created a much
bigger yahoo group with a much wider scope; hence, THE CORDILLERA
ARTISTS CENTRAL egroup. Moreover, to further serve a much-intended
purpose, the Moderator announces the launching of THE CORDILLERA
ARTISTS CENTRAL WEBSITE. We would like to inform you that the Baguio
City Artists yahoo group and corresponding email address have already
been deactivated in favor of THE CORDILLERA ARTISTS CENTRAL yahoo
group and website.

This therefore is to invite you to The Cordillera Artists Central to
continue to receive messages, news, announcements and invitations,
post messages, news, announcements and invitations, participate in
polls and fora, and other activities.

The Cordillera Artists Central, having been born and/or have become
aware into a context of cultural diversity that is characteristic of
the Cordilleras, come from varied backgrounds, class origins and
traditions. It is from its own heterogeneity that the strengths of
the collective stems from. It is however, homogenous in one aspect:
It seeks to utilize art as cultural sanctuary.

The Cordillera Artists Central e-group mainly serves as a forum.
However, members are welcome to post announcements of exhibits and
art-related events. The gallery shall also be utilized to feature at
least 3 artists and their artworks a month.

Participants are expected:

- To learn from various experiences of cultural workers and artists;
- To further strengthen linkages / networking;
- To entice support from different levels, sectors and government
agencies in particular;
- To be able to make a legacy for the community;
- To validate existing frameworks/models/ insights in cultural
development; and,
- To come up with strategies on sustaining local efforts in cultural
development.
