Jes Evangelista's "Read Between The Lines" is now on view at Galerie Astra. The exhibit consists of small-sized and large-scale paintings, and installation works.

Jes Evangelista's latest work at Galerie Astra continues to explore into the endless possibilities of abstraction and painting. Jes Evangelista utilizes colors which are layering and masking technique and built in several layers of acrylic, soft gel, colored pencils, oil paints, oil pastels and pencil. These are painstakingly removed to reveal the hues underneath oriented in horizontal, diagonals and as well as vertical lines.

Jes Evangelista holds a BFA in Painting from the University of the Philippines. Jes Evangelista was a twice finalist in the Shell Art Competition. At present, Jes Evangelista teaches in The Master’s Academy (TMA) as an Auxiliary Art teacher at St. Francis Square, Ortigas Mandaluyong City.

Galerie Astra is located at 2/F the Art Pavilion LRI Business Center which is located at 210 Nicanor Garcia St. (formerly Reposo St.) Makati City.
